We are EXCITED to announce that we have chosen to build our family through foster care!! Every year, 250,000 children in the United States enter the foster care system. Currently, nearly 200,000 of those children are waiting to be adopted. We have a loving Father who is for reconciliation and restoration. Through this process, we are praying that families will be restored and the gospel of Jesus will be evident in our time together as a family.

Foster care has been, and will continue to be, an exciting and challenging adventure for us. As it would be with a biological child, we are not guaranteed any number of days with the child[ren]. We may or may not have the opportunity to adopt our foster child[ren]. Nevertheless, our unconditional love for him/her originates from deep within our hearts, which would make the child[ren] our own, specially chosen, beloved son/daughter.

In foster care, each child’s story is unique and his/her background is confidential. However, what we can tell you is that we are not “special people” just because we have chosen to be foster parents. Rather, we are blessed to have been given the privilege to love and disciple these children as long they are with us. This is an opportunity that we are excited to share with you as we continue through this journey. We desire to encourage you to educate yourselves about the foster care and the adoption process. It is a beautiful blessing to share the agape love of Jesus Christ with those children who are in desperate need of hope.

Congrats! We’ve been foster parents for 2 years. We’ve had 15 placements and are in the process of adopting 1 little boy! I have had my heart broken, but He puts it back together more softer than the heart before. It has been an adventure. Thank you for the encouragement this post is.
